** Exciting Area 1 Clinic - Reserve the date Saturday, April 24th **

Area 1 is excited to be hosting a clinic featuring Jason Duquette and Suzanne Pickard of JS Quarter Horses.

They have recently relocated their training operation to Bothwell, Ontario. Some of their many accomplishments include: Multiple Futurity Champions (Reichert, Tom Powers, Double Your Pleasure, MQHA & OQHA Breeders), Many Top Congress placers, World show qualifiers, NSBA & AQHA Year end Honor Roll.

Come out as a specator or bring your horse, this promises to be an exciting and educational experience. Don't be intimidated, this clinic is geared to all levels of riders.

Youth World Cup - Support Amanda Thomson with a Sponsorship!

My name is Amanda Thomson and I am honored and proud to have been selected to represent Canada as one of the ten members of Team Canada at the 2010 American Quarter Horse Youth World Cup July 3-11, 2010. The 2010 Youth World Cup will be hosted by the American Quarter Horse Association in Oklahoma City, OK. To read more of Amanda's Letter click here.

Funding for travel and other expenses for Team Canada is cost-shared by provincial Quarter horse associations, corporate and /or individual sponsors and team members’ families. Message from your Executive

The Area 1 Annual Meeting was held January 10th and a new Board of Directors was elected. Click here or go to QH News link to see your representatives for 2010. For those members who attended the Annual Meeting, thank you for coming out. As with any non-profit organization the constant struggle is the fact that a small group of people end up carrying the burden of the organization. Area 1 puts on some of the best shows in Ontario year after year, but we need your help to continue.

We are going to ask for more involvement from our members and exhibitors alike. We will be reaching out to you for assistance from time to time. Whether it be your opinion for improvements, help at the shows, or volunteering to man the booth at CAN-AM your assistance is needed. The core group of volunteers/board members are becoming fatigued and if you want to continue to enjoy our high quality of shows (great exhibitor awards, low cost of entry fees and stalls compared to the other area's), fantastic year-end awards, etc, then you need to get involved. The time is now.

How can we better serve you our members and get you involved? Input is welcome, please contact any of the Board members if you have ideas, or suggestions.

Area 1 Rules of Conduct

  • Trailers are not to be plugged into the barn or hooked up to the water.

  • No Dogs roaming loose on the grounds. Dogs must be on a leash or tied up at all times.

  • Under no circumstances are horses to be turned loose in any area either day or night.

  • If you are plugged into another trailer, that is considered a hook-up and you will be charged full price.

  • Please do not hook  water directly to your trailer, as water is not included in your hook-up. You may fill your water tank as needed.

  • Please be sure that all outstanding bills are paid before leaving the grounds.

  • Please be advised that all stalls that are booked and that are not cancelled 14 days in advance must be paid for.
